Last night I went to a book party at the Monkey Bar for movie superproducer Jerry Weintraub.  It was a very media crowd of fancy people; I kept seeing Connie Chung across the room and am pissed I didn't get a chance to talk to her after working with her years ago at CBS. I like her! Oh, and I can't get over what a nice guy Jimmy Fallon is.

After that I headed to Food & Wine Magazine's Best New Chefs event at the Four Seasons Restaurant (also where Bethenny got married and the hub of many fantastic events) with Work of Art executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker. There were about 10 stations that each featured incredible, inventive food from Food & Wine's Best New Chefs from across America.

My personal high point of the night was seeing the brothers Voltaggio cooking an amazing take on chicken wings, side by side in brotherly harmony. I tried to stir up some trouble but Michael wouldn't have it. Why is it kinda cute seeing twini-ish brothers cook?

We also ran into Kelly Choi, whose Top Chef Masters premieres tonight after the Shear Genius finale.  (By the way I am announcing your Shear Fan Favorite on WWHL tomorrow night at midnight.)  Kelly is fantastic and so is the second season of her show. We also chatted with Tom Colicchio and one of the evening's hosts, Gail Simmons. Plus Harold Deiterle, Jen Carroll, and our first female Top Chef Stephanie Izzard.

This morning I did not see the cleaning lady at the gym, but on my way out (I was very late) I did catch Kathie Lee and Hoda's host chat. Quote of the day: "The French once loved us and we once loved them." Kathie Lee said it and Hoda tried to mop it up and say, "We still love them." It was a moment.
