From tips, to faves, to must-haves, here's my list of gear and strategies that make traveling easier, healthier, and more fun.

1. Never check bags.

I always carry on; I never check my bags... ever. It’s a pain in the ass, it’s never worth it, and you don’t need that much stuff that you need to check bags.

2. Bring green apples.

I always travel with green apples. They’re a great snack, and you can just eat them anytime. They fill you up, they’re healthy, they’re great.

3. ABC: Always be charging!

I love that thing that they sell at the Apple store where you can put your phone into the shell that has its own Mophie, so your phone stays charged.

4. Bring backup reading material.

I always bring two books with me in case I get stranded somewhere. I bring the actual books — I don’t like reading on iPad or Kindle. Old school!

5. Skip the line.

You should sign up for TSA Pre-check, because it will save you time. And you don’t have to take your shoes off or your computer out at security.

6. Load up the tunes.

I always travel with music and headphones. Madonna always makes me happy, no matter where I am!
