Gail's Day Off: Zip Lining

If you've been following our digital series Gail's Day Off that follows Top Chef judge Gail Simmons on her days off from filming Season 15, then you're aware that her time away from the set was nothing short of totally thrilling (and inspiring).

And through the series — which shows Gail engaged in such invigorating downtime activities as ziplining, fly fishing, and biking in Colorado — she also shares with fans a bit of insight into what her days on look like, too!

While enjoying a day out ziplining, Gail shares that shooting the high-stakes show is like a fun childhood pastime — in that it's time separated from regular society, with its own rules, and its own code of behaviors. "Top Chef is definitely summer camp," she said in the clip (watch above).

Before soaring over Colorado at 60 miles per hour, the judge further explained her analogy: "My husband and I joke that when I come back [from filming every year] I swear too much, I don't have table manners... and he has to teach me how to do chores around the house again."

A summer with friends cursing with abandon and not doing chores? Yeah, it's camp alright.
