RHOC Newbie Braunwyn Windham-Burke Shares Her Best Diet Tip

The Real Housewives of Orange County mom of seven Braunwyn Windham-Burke explains her relationship with food.

The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer Braunwyn Windham-Burke recently opened up to The Feast about her past challenges with food — and how those challenges have affected her large family. "Food was always very hard for me growing up," she explained, admitting, "a lot of [teenage daughter] Rowan’s weight issues came from me."

So with that being said, Braunwyn admits to fluctuating diet philosophies — including wanting to slim down for the show — but she's reserved when talking about her best diet tips. "I can’t really give diet tips," she explained. Because the truth is, "I'm still figuring it out."

That said, her best advice overall is to simply "eat real food" versus processed — and she does that herself when possible by filling up on vegetables and lean proteins. 

"When we were filming, I definitely went through a period where I wanted to look really good, so I definitely was just eating lean protein and vegetables — but I’ve given that up," she told The Feast. "I’m back on ice cream."

Braunwyn doesn't keep alcohol in the house (although "I drank tequila like it was water" when filming the show), so when it comes to a wind-down beverage, it's kava tea for her.

Braunwyn's fellow cast mate Shannon Beador recently lost 40 pounds — so, was that a source of inspiration for Braunwyn?

Yes, Shannon was an inspiration — but not because of her successful diet, Braunwyn told The Feast. "For me, the inspirational part of Shannon wasn’t the weight loss, it was her mindset. She’s just so happy and she’s, like, living her life and she’s having fun. And I think the weight is a side part of that."
