Heather Dubrow is finally showing off what is probably the coolest space in her house — the basement — and we’ve got all the pics. Since moving into her new home, dubbed Dubrow Chateau, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has been taking viewers inside room by room on her YouTube Channel, Heather’s Closet.
Earlier in the week we got a look at the decked-out kids play space, which is loaded with everything from foosball and ice hockey tables, to video games and a custom costume closet. Now, Heather’s giving viewers a spin around the other end of the basement area, what she calls the “indoor/outdoor fun entertaining extravaganza place.” That’s right, we're talking about the bar. Let’s check it out.
The massive subterranean bar in Dubrow Chateau rivals that of any five-star hotel. It comes with numerous seating areas for guests that include sofas and leather club chairs accented with upholstered drum tables.
"I wanted to create conversation points as opposed to the big sofa, the big chairs," said Heather during the tour. "This is great, people can have private conversations. It feels more like a party to me."
The absolute centerpiece is the stunning bar itself. The top is composed of a hulking raw edge tree slab that Heather purposefully left unfinished. The base is constructed of onyx and lit up for added drama. "The best bar ever. I love this bar. I could live on this bar. I do sometimes," Heather admitted as she got cozy on the top.
Even though husband Terry doesn't drink beer, he demanded the bar have not one but two beer taps. "We've used it once," noted Heather. "I got two quarter kegs under there, and they were here for so long without being finished they went bad. But it looks good!"
The bar is also equipped with four different TV screens that can be watched individually or put together to make one gigantic screen.
The bar opens directly to an interior courtyard with a stunning tree as focal point. "I put twinkle lights on the tree all year round, and I put a mirror on the wall so you get depth," said Heather. "The big custom mirror on the wall reflects the tree at night. It's so pretty!"
Though it did take some effort to bring the tree in: Heather's construction crew had to use a crane to place it in the courtyard.
Oh, and the crew thinks the tree has an odd sort of "formation" on one side. Check out the full video and see for yourself.
