This summer, Teresa Giudice made a major enhancement to her Towaco, New Jersey mansion: She got a pool! And not just any pool. Via a slew of photos posted to Instagram all summer long, Teresa showed off all the pool's bells and whistles, like arching fountains and an in-water lounge pad for chairs. But until The Real Housewives of New Jersey season premiere we didn’t know the motivation behind the big investment. (If you missed it, catch up on RHONJ here.)

“For the past three years, I’ve been paying off restitution,” Teresa explained in the episode. “Now that I’m done, I do have extra money and the pool is something that my daughters always wanted and they’re going through a very hard time right now. It doesn’t take the pain away, but I want to fill up the void as much as I can because Joe’s not here.”

And who did she hire to get the job done? An old flame, it seems. Enter: Tony from Woodside Custom Pools. While scoping out the size of the pool in her massive backyard, Teresa invited Dolores Catania to swing by—and upon seeing Tony, she immediately let the cat out of the bag (in front of Gia, no less!).

“I remember when you guys dated for two seconds,” she joked. “Teresa was like 17 years old. Ya know, maybe they made out a little, maybe they went to the beach. That didn’t last though, Joe was always crazy about her. He was not going to let her marry someone else.”

Regardless of their former relationship, what's evident is that Teresa’s now got herself a pretty sweet pool to look at all day long. Check out the before and after photos below and be sure to tune into RHONJ on Wednesdays at 8/7c!
