When Sarah Jessica Parker stopped by the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Clubhouse on January 31, there was a bit of an elephant in the room. For months, there has been public speculation about whether a third Sex and the City movie will ever come to light.
But actress Kim Cattrall — who played one of the series' central characters — has made it clear that she's not interested in reviving her role as Samantha Jones. And sometimes, Cattrall's comments on the matter seemed to throw a dash of shade at her former co-stars. Most notably, back in October, Cattrall told Piers Morgan that she was "never friends" with the SATC cast. So, where does SJP stand on the beef now?
WWHL host Andy Cohen asked Parker about her reaction to Catrall's surprising comment, and the actress took a moment to weigh in on how she felt upon hearing it. Watch the clip above to get the actress' candid reaction.
And in the meantime, the search for a new Samantha Jones is on — if only jokingly.
When she appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in January, Parker cheekily suggested that Colbert himself could step in to fill the role. She has also suggested that Ellen DeGeneres could take on the part. And on WWHL, Andy Cohen tossed his "wig" in the ring of potential Samanthas with a hilarious "audition." Take a peek at his noble effort, here.
Hmm, perhaps an actress like Sharon Stone would be more suited to the role? When asked what she'd think of the Fatal Attraction star joining the SATC cast, Parker said: "I think it's a really interesting idea!" So, it looks like we can all stay tuned for more SATC 3 developments...
