Praise the Lord! Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lydia McLaughlin's book, Beyond Orange County: A Housewives Guide to Faith & Happiness hit shelves this week, and the devout Christian couldn't be more excited or proud.
"The day is finally here!" she captioned a shot of herself on her Instagram, surrounded by copies of the memoir. "Doesn't everyone start the day bathing in their new book? #OrderYourCopyToday."
And at the launch party, she got to celebrate with a familiar face—former co-star and friend Alexis Bellino! Lydia's brother Jesse Myers Stirling shared a pic of the three, as he boasted his sister's success. "#BeyondOrangeCounty book launch party with @AlexisBellino & my sister (and published author!) @OCLydia," he wrote on his Twitter account.
Lydia makes it clear in her new book that her life is focused more on religion than reality, which is why she only lasted one season on RHOC. "As I prayed about the decision, I didn't feel in my heart of hearts that I was called [by God] to do another season of the show," she writes. "My true motivation for doing the show again was based more on the worldly benefits…I had gotten a taste of fame and recognition, and it was fun...The dresses and makeup and all things girlie were tempting."
